A scale model of a de Havilland DH.98 'Mosquito' twin-engine, World War II-era fighter/bomber aircraft. It is situated in a scale model aircraft hangar which makes the scene quite realistic. The aircraft is painted in grey and green camouflage and bears the registration letters ยซ RKP ยป. In the background, other scale model aircraft can be seen as well as maintenance equipment appropriate to the scene and also at the correct scale. Superimposed over the image but below the subject aircraft are the words ยซ SCALE MODEL ยป in large grey, block letters. Just below that, the word ยซ Saturday ยป appears in khaki green script. The colours of the superimposed words key off the subject aircraft. (๐Ÿ“ธ Fly Past Rush)
You can't buy happiness but you can buy more scale model kits and that's pretty close. (๐Ÿ“ธ Fly Past Rush1)

Thanks to all and weโ€™ll wrap up this edition of Scale Model Saturday with this fascinating item: ยซ [T]his model was built by Grace Beckwith in the colors of a command aircraft. She entered it in the 1938 Scale Model Airplane Contest sponsored by the Smithsonian Institution. ยป (๐Ÿ“ธ Eric Long) | ๐Ÿ›ฉ๏ธ โš”๏ธ ๐Ÿ”

1If you have not found it yet, you really need to check out the Fly Past Rush website. Museum-quality scale models complete with meticulous research and build logs as far as the eye can see. Outstanding.
