For your writing legacy, we turn whatever source material you have on hand into modern web artefacts: aesthetically pleasing, easy to navigate and read, discoverable by search engines and optimised for social media. All this at absolutely no cost to you.
For readers, Avergreen prioritises a pristine reading experience for humans: a simple, elegant set of fonts combined in a straightforward design language with lots of whitespace and without invasive pop-up ads or other distractions. Like this article, for example. Avergreen also adapts well to all form factors: desktop, tablet, and phone, without any requirement to install complicated apps or other inquisitive software keeping tabs on the audience.
For Avergreen, making your excellent and engaging articles easily found and getting them read increases our frontage. Our goal is to become the premier one-stop shop for great, classic aviation literature on the web, resulting in a virtuous circle: more readers mean more interest by more authors to jump on the Avergreen bandwagon, which, in turn, attracts still more readers. Growth of the author community and the readership who enjoy their work means more readers for you, and more opportunities for us to build toward a sustainable web publishing business.
This program is for authors holding an indisputable copyright on the entirety of the material submitted for publication under the Avergreen imprint: text, images, video, and any other media. You must be prepared to warrant that any other party does not, either explicitly, by inference, or by assumption, have any claim to copyright on any part of your story.
Subsequent to publication under Avergreen, the copyright for your valuable work remains with you. We do not, and will not, require any sort of exclusivity over the publication of your articles. In fact, we’ll help Avergreen readers discover the original publication in which it is found.
Generally, this program is intended for articles which have been digitally published. We can transmogrify from a wide variety of digital formats into the format for its new home on Avergreen. Working with purely paper articles can be challenging, but we’d still like to discuss it with you to see if a relatively easy set of steps could be undertaken to get the digitisation done.
There is no minimum length of article: a poem and a single image will work just fine. Neither is there any maximum: articles of any word count and/or multi-part articles are fine, too. We have even serialised entire books. A sample chapter from a past book is a great way to stimulate sales of the long tail or a great way to elicit interest in that new book on which you're working. Photos are an integral part of modern web publishing: at least one is required but more are encouraged and can be presented in a variety of layouts.
This is a collaboration between you, the author, and Avergreen. You provide the great writing and accompanying illustrations, and we provide all of the services described above as a pure barter transaction. We post announcements of all new articles on the Bluesky and LinkedIn social media platforms. We also post opportunistically about your stories in response to a variety of factors: if, for example, an additional article of yours is published under the program, it only makes sense to use additional social posts to remind the community of your previous articles. We also provide you with links optimised for sharing for whatever social channels on which you are active.
We employ Fathom Analytics, which provides « forever data retention, and complete, worry-free GDPR compliance - all while protecting … digital privacy. » We work with you to harness Fathom's capabilities to help you understand not only the size and characteristics of your audience but also some additional information about how they’re reading your work.
Avergreen facilitates your interaction with a whole new readership for your writing. However, rather than turning them loose on an unmoderated comments section thrown in as an afterthought, we link back to the social posts that launched your article initially. On these social platforms, we have an array of tools available to ensure a quality experience when interacting with readers.
We will never use unpredictable, scammy, spammy, third-party, inline pop-up ads or other distracting content which serve only to degrade the reading experience while providing little or no monetary benefit.
That said, we do provide an optional mechanism to place a discrete, tasteful, and potentially revenue-generating Presenting Sponsor advertisement; just one per article. This appears once we're reasonably certain your article has been fully read, which predisposes the reader to smoothly transferring their attention and interest to the advertisement.
