From the British Antarctic Survey website: 1ยซ For 60 years the British Antarctic Survey (BAS) has been responsible for most of the UKโ€™s scientific research in Antarctica. BAS has its roots in Operation Tabarin, a secret World War Two mission with a dual scientific role. Our history is preserved by the BAS Archives Service, which manages and provides access to records created by BAS and its predecessors โ€“ the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey and Tabarin. ยป Our posts regarding the organisation you can find on the BluFly ๐Ÿ›ฉ๏ธ custom feed 2 in reverse chronological order (that is, most recent first):

Truth be known, we feel we have something of a connection with the BAS. Here is VP-FBC โ€” a *long* way from its natural habitat โ€” at Springbank Airport near Calgary, Canada in June of 2018. This is a stone's throw away from the @blufly.media home office. (๐Ÿ“ธ @terencecgannon.bsky.social) | ๐Ÿ›ฉ๏ธ ๐Ÿ“

It's no secret we're fans of @antarcticsurvey.bsky.social and we found *yet another* reason as described in this article. They're capturing detailed imagery with what appears to be a garden-variety AgEagle eBee X survey drone for this Biodiversity Challenge Fund project. Well worth a read. | ๐Ÿ›ฉ๏ธ ๐Ÿ“ก ๐Ÿ’บ

Given the popularity our previous @antarcticsurvey.bsky.social posts, we thought this might also be of interest. Exactly the kind of career we would have wanted if we weren't under-qualified by, say, at least three degrees. (๐Ÿ“ธ Alan Light via Wikimedia under CC BY 2.0, slightly cropped) | ๐Ÿ›ฉ๏ธ ๐Ÿงฐ
