From the Dawn Aerospace website: 1Β« By many metrics, the Mk-II will be the highest-performance vehicle ever to take off from a runway. It will fly faster than an SR-71, and climb faster than an F-15, and to higher altitudes than any aircraft before it. We are unapologetically enthusiastic about @dawnaerospace.bsky.social: they're quietly getting things in the suborbital domain with their Aurora aircraft. Their latest short video is a great way to get up to speed on their story so far. | πŸ›©οΈ πŸ“‘ πŸ›°οΈ πŸ’Ί πŸ“Ή πŸ₯‡ | πŸ”— www.dawnaerospace.com/latest-news/...

The team working away in New Zealand has achieved another impressive milestone: Mach 1.1 and an ultimate altitude of 25,146m (82,500ft). They say it's Β« … the first time a civil aircraft has flown supersonic since Concorde. Β» We think that's pretty cool. Read their press release below. | πŸ›©οΈ πŸ“‘ πŸ›°οΈ πŸ“Ή πŸ“°

There's a lot of buzz about 'reusability' recently. However, the project which has *our* attention in this regard is this team quietly working away in New Zealand. While it does have different objectives than that 'other' high-profile project, this approach still seems more elegant to us. | πŸ›©οΈ πŸ“‘ πŸ“°
